On April 27, 2012, the Executive Director issued an Order under section 10(1)(b) of the Environmental Assessment Act to exempt the Richmond Island Milltown Marina and Boatyard Project, proposed by Musqueam Indian Band and Bastion Development Corporation, from the requirement to obtain an environmental assessment certificate. Amendment to the Reviewable Projects Regulation
An amendment to the Reviewable Projects Regulation was announced on March 26, 2012. The revised regulation is now in effect. The regulation now requires any facility under a regional district’s solid waste management plan that, with or without energy recovery, destroys waste using high temperatures and that is located in the Greater Vancouver Regional District or Fraser Valley Regional District to undergo an environmental assessment under the BC Environmental Assessment Act.
